Jaipur/Sriganganagar, September 3: The play "Thirty Days in September," written by Mahesh Dattani, will be staged at the Rajasthan International Centre on September 6, 2024, at 7 PM. This play explores the themes of love and betrayal within a family, focusing on the sensitive issue of child sexual abuse and its profound impact on the victim's life and personality.
The central character, Mala, is depicted as struggling in an environment of silence and societal indifference, facing internal conflicts despite the facade of modernity. Her mother, Shanta, battles her own inner turmoil while praying for her daughter's well-being. The characters Vinay and Deepak, with their contrasting personalities, offer support to Mala as the story delves into emotional connections and selfish motives, ultimately leading to a recognition of harsh realities.

The role of Shanta is played by Nikki Chaturvedi, the Head of the Department of History and Indian Culture at Rajasthan University, with extensive experience in theater. The cast also includes Mohit Krishna as the paper boy, Vaidehi Saxena as Radhika, and Asif Sher Ali as the man.
