Approval for Providing Clean Drinking Water to 11 Villages, Including Chitari, Badgi, and Galiyakot, Covering 6000 Families

Udaipur: A plan to provide clean drinking water to approximately 6000 families in 11 villages, including Chitari, Badgi, and Galiyakot, has received approval. Former Chief Minister Dinesh Khodaniya revealed that during the Congress government's tenure, many villages across the district were included in the drinking water plan. The Congress government has now granted financial approval for the drinking water plan for these 11 villages during the Ganeshotsav festival. Work is set to commence soon.

For a long time, these villages were facing challenges in accessing clean drinking water. They will now be connected to a filtration plant in Silohi, from where clean drinking water will be distributed to households.

Khodaniya mentioned that local representatives and rural residents in these areas had been demanding a drinking water supply for quite some time. A proposal was then made, and it was presented to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. In his budget, the Chief Minister had announced the inclusion of these villages in the clean drinking water plan. The entire project is estimated to cost around 23 crore rupees.

Khodaniya further explained that 119 crore rupees are being spent to provide doorstep water supply in the city of Sagwara. In these 11 villages, there will be no water supply issues. To deliver water to these villages, 9 tanks will be constructed at different locations, from where water supply lines spanning 160 kilometers will be laid to ensure clean water reaches every household. The Water Resources Department has already planned this entire project.

Khodaniya stated that the villages being included in the drinking water plan are Chitari, Badgi, Gadarajsarajpur, Parada Mataji, Udaia, Silohi, Bhemia, Galiyakot, Jutlai, Vaniyap, and Navadhara Mataji. Work to provide clean drinking water to Ghatta village, Virat, and Vandarvad is already completed. Additionally, work orders have been issued for Jogpur, Devara Bada, Ambada, and Nakafala villages in the Galiyakot block. Approximately 9 crore rupees will be spent to provide clean drinking water to these areas.

In the Sagwada block, work to deliver water to 10 villages has also begun, costing around 19 crore rupees. Similar plans have been devised for Paderdi Badi, Kandula, Vamsa, Bijawada, Dola, Barbodaniya, Kaneila, Decha, and Parada Mehta. In these villages, wells will be dug to provide water to every household."**
