Udaipur, The Udaipur Development Authority (UDA) has approved a beautification plan for Atal Park located at the center of the Sub City Center scheme, modeled after Sukhadia Circle. An amount of approximately ₹4.35 crore has been sanctioned for the project. This development is expected to create a new attraction for both local residents and tourists. The demand for this initiative was consistently raised by Rural MLA Phool Singh Meena.
Approval After Detailed Consultations
UDA Commissioner Rahul Jain informed that the proposal was finalized after detailed discussions with MLA Meena, UDA Secretary Hemendra Nagar, Director of Engineering Sanjeev Sharma, and other technical officials. Atal Park covers an area of about 138,500 sq. ft. According to the plan, a pond of nearly 27,000 sq. ft. will be constructed for paddle boating, similar to the design of Sukhadia Circle.
For residents’ morning walks, a 400-meter-long and 10-feet-wide footpath will be developed along the park’s outer perimeter, while the inner area will include another 425-meter-long footpath. Additionally, 43,000 sq. ft. will be dedicated to gardens and plantation.
Facilities for Recreation and Tourism
The project will also feature an open gym, children’s play area with swings and equipment, a cafeteria, and toilet blocks. A 20,000 sq. ft. paved parking area along with a tube well for water supply is also included in the proposal. Based on the estimates, UDA Commissioner Jain has sanctioned ₹4.35 crore for the execution of these works.
He further added that, upon MLA Meena’s request, the development of the Nandeshwar Mahadev site has also been planned, and necessary approvals will be issued soon.
