DM  Emphasizes Efforts to Maintain Cleanliness and Environmental Balance of Lakes

Udaipur,  A significant meeting was held on Tuesday morning in the Collectorate Mini Conference Hall chaired by District Collector Arvind Poswal to deliberate on proposals for rejuvenating water bodies under the Amrit Yojana 2.0 for urban areas. Officials from the Municipal Corporation, Udaipur Development Authority, and Forest Department attended the meeting.

During the meeting, District Collector Poswal emphasized that the lakes are the identity of Udaipur and form the basis of its environmental balance. He directed municipal officials to ensure that no sewage is discharged into the lakes at any level. Furthermore, he mandated regular inspections of the established systems for maintaining the environmental balance of the lakes and assessing parameters such as oxygen levels in the water, with reports to be submitted periodically.

Poswal also stressed the importance of installing grease chambers in all commercial premises around the lakes, including hotels and restaurants, and ensuring compliance with directives. He warned that action would be taken against those who fail to comply with the regulations.

The meeting included detailed discussions on the status and issues of lakes and water bodies such as Pichola, Fatehsagar, Swaroop Sagar, Goverdhan Sagar, and others, with directions given to the relevant officials to prepare proposals for the rejuvenation of water bodies.

YDA Commissioner Rahul Jain, Deputy Forest Conservator Ajay Chittauda, Deputy Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation Sudhanshu, Executive Engineer Mukesh Pujari, and other officials were present at the meeting.
