#### Udaipur Gets First CGHS Wellness Centre of South Rajasthan After MP Rawat’s Efforts

Udaipur: The Central Government has approved the establishment of South Rajasthan’s first CGHS Wellness Centre in Udaipur, marking a major achievement following the efforts of MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat. With this approval, more than 17,000 families of Central Government employees and pensioners in the Udaipur division will receive direct health benefits.

Dr. Rawat shared that the demand for setting up a CGHS Wellness Centre in Udaipur had been pending for a long time. He extended gratitude to Union Ministers J.P. Nadda and Nirmala Sitharaman for granting the approval. He had earlier written to the Union Health and Family Welfare Minister, J.P. Nadda, and also held a personal meeting regarding this issue.

Dr. Rawat highlighted that the Udaipur parliamentary constituency had no existing CGHS dispensary, causing inconvenience to Central employees and pensioners. Being the most significant city in South Rajasthan, Udaipur houses a large number of Central employees, retirees, and eligible beneficiaries who previously had to travel to other cities to avail CGHS services. Currently, Rajasthan has operational CGHS Wellness Centres only in Jaipur, Ajmer, Jodhpur, and Kota.

More than 30 key Central Government departments function in the Udaipur division, including Income Tax, Central Excise & Service Tax, Postal, Communication, Railways, EPFO, Mines, CPWD, Airport Authority, CISF, BSF, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Navodaya Vidyalaya, Eklavya Vidyalaya, NHAI, Agriculture Science Centre, Solar Observatory, Meteorological Department, and Narcotics Bureau, among others.

Given Udaipur’s status as an important international tourist destination, the new CGHS Wellness Centre will offer significant relief. Eligible beneficiaries will no longer need to seek medical assistance in other cities during emergencies, making this a landmark development for the region.
