Talents Shine at Art and Craft Camp of The Bharat Scouts and Guides

Udaipur, A five-day Art and Craft Camp was successfully organised at the Rajasthan State Bharat Scouts and Guides Divisional Training Centre, Udaynivas, Udaipur under the aegis of The Bharat Scouts and Guides National Headquarters, New Delhi. The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 100 Rover-Rangers and Unit Leaders representing NF Railway, NE Railway, Eastern Railway, Telangana, Haryana, and Rajasthan.

DIG Rajeev Dwivedi (DIG Stamps, Udaipur) graced the valedictory ceremony as the Chief Guest, while District Commissioner (Guides) Ashok Kunwar presided over the event. The guests were welcomed with warm hospitality at the start of the programme.

Assistant State Organisation Commissioner Manmohan Swarnkar shared that Camp Director Kumud Mehra (DDGLT) presented a brief report on the camp and extended a formal welcome to the guests.

“Scouting Teaches Resilience and Service” – DIG Dwivedi

Addressing the gathering, DIG Rajeev Dwivedi said that scouting is a voluntary movement that fosters both personal development and a spirit of social service among youth. He emphasised that the scouting platform enables boys and girls to achieve holistic growth and prepare for real-life challenges. He praised the instructors’ dedication, noting the remarkable artistic progress made by participants in a short period.

He added that scouting instills the courage to face difficulties and nurtures the spirit of service at all levels—from small acts to larger missions.

Cultural Showcase and Exhibition Impress Guests

CO (Guides) Abhilasha Mishra shared that vibrant cultural performances like Rajasthani folk dance, Bihu dance from Assam, Haryanvi and Telangana dances left the audience mesmerized. An exhibition of handcrafted items created during the training—featuring jute work, sketching, soft toys, Lippan art, mosaic, and best out of waste—was also inaugurated and widely appreciated.

Participants from other states shared their enriching camp experiences, expressing delight at learning in the serene setting near Udaysagar Lake amidst the hills.

The programme also saw the presence of CO (Scout) Surendra Kumar Pandey, local association secretary (Vallabhnagar) Mangal Jain, and camp assistant director ROC Lalita, who extended the vote of thanks. The event was conducted by CO (Guide, Alwar) Vijaylakshmi Verma.

Trainers including Chandrashekhar Srivastava, Uma Kumawat, Anjana Sharma, Manisha Dixit, Himani Sharma, Sunita Agrawal, Vallabh, and Anup Singh were felicitated for their exceptional contributions to training sessions.
