Over 35,000 Saplings Planted and 20,000+ Cotton & Jute Bags Distributed Across Udaipur
Udaipur: With a vision to promote environmental conservation, green development, and a plastic-free society, RAHDA Foundation has been actively conducting sapling distribution and eco-friendly bag distribution campaigns across Udaipur. The initiative has emerged as a powerful example of environmental awareness and community participation.
Under the leadership of Founder Archana Singh Charan, the Foundation has been carrying out remarkable work in various fields, including afforestation, plastic-free campaigns, cow-dung log (Gaukasth) production, water conservation, rural development, and women empowerment.
Believing that environmental protection is not merely the responsibility of governments but of every citizen, the Foundation has been striving to transform environmental initiatives into a people's movement. As part of its green mission, RAHDA Foundation has planted more than 35,000 saplings in different regions. Extensive plantation drives have been undertaken in the Aravalli region, religious sites, public spaces, and rural areas. Special emphasis is also placed on the protection and maintenance of planted saplings to ensure long-term environmental sustainability and increased green cover.
The Foundation's "No Plastic Campaign" has received widespread public support. To raise awareness about the harmful effects of single-use plastic, RAHDA Foundation has distributed over 20,000 cotton and jute bags as eco-friendly alternatives. In recent months alone, more than 1,000 cotton bags and saplings have been distributed during various social, educational, and public events. The campaign continues to encourage citizens to adopt reusable cloth bags and reduce plastic consumption, thereby promoting environmental protection, cleanliness, and public health.
One of the Foundation's notable achievements is its Gaukasth-based Environmental Model, developed with the support of the Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board. Under this initiative, eco-friendly logs and bricks are produced from cow dung and organic waste, providing a sustainable alternative to conventional wood. The model helps reduce tree cutting, utilizes biodegradable waste, and supports cow conservation. The Foundation has also promoted the use of Gaukasth in the cremation of unidentified individuals, combining environmental responsibility with humanitarian values.
RAHDA Foundation remains actively engaged in rural development initiatives throughout southern Rajasthan. Various programs related to water conservation, sanitation, organic farming, waste management, and natural resource conservation are regularly organized in villages. These efforts aim to create environmental awareness while encouraging communities to adopt sustainable lifestyles.
The organization has also successfully linked environmental conservation with women empowerment. Women are being encouraged to participate in the production of eco-friendly products, plant care, nursery development, and green entrepreneurship, helping them become self-reliant. Simultaneously, young people are being motivated to actively participate in plantation drives, cleanliness campaigns, water conservation projects, and awareness programs, fostering a sense of environmental responsibility among the next generation.
Speaking about the Foundation's vision, Archana Singh Charan said that the goal is not merely to plant trees or distribute bags, but to establish environmental conservation as a long-term people's movement driven by community participation. She emphasized the Foundation's commitment to expanding green spaces, minimizing plastic usage, empowering rural communities through sustainable environmental practices, and connecting women and youth with green development initiatives.
She further stated that environmental conservation has become an issue directly linked to human survival. Therefore, every individual must contribute towards protecting nature. RAHDA Foundation remains dedicated to building a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future through continuous environmental action and public engagement.
