International Red Cross Day and Thalassemia Day Celebrated at B.N. Institute

**Udaipur,On Wednesday, May 8, 2024, the Bhopal Nobles Public School observed the symbol of service and humanity, World Red Cross Day. Various programs were organized in the school on this occasion. Principal Dr. Seema Naruka, while emphasizing the significance of this day, stated that the main objective of World Red Cross Day is to protect helpless and injured soldiers and civilians. This day is celebrated on the birth anniversary of Henry Dunant, the founder of the International Red Cross Committee. Dr. Naruka explained that on this occasion, students illuminated the importance of blood donation and moral values through speeches, songs, street plays, and dance dramas.

The program was coordinated by Mrs. Vishnu Priya Jhala. Similarly, discussions on Red Cross Day and Thalassemia Day were also held at the B.N. College of Pharmacy. Dean Dr. Y.S. Sarangdevot stated that Thalassemia is a genetic blood disorder inherited by children from their parents, affecting the level of hemoglobin in the body abnormally. As a result, there is a gradual decrease in the amount of blood in the body. This day is also dedicated to spreading awareness about the disease, dispelling myths, and promoting research for better treatment and care options. The Red Cross organization has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize three times, with its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
