organized by Rotary Club of Mumbai Downtown Sealand.
*RCMDS* : We are the members of, the highly prestigious, Rotary Club of Mumbai Downtown Sealand, which has a
proud legacy of 55 years of dedicated community service, & has successfully brought about significant
changes in the lives of many beneficiaries. To sustain the positive community efforts, our Club has initiated a relief effort, namely ‘Jal Dhara’ – A fundraising-dependent social project, through which our Club aims to address the critical water scarcity in regions, inhabited by tribal communities. These are drought-prone areas facing immense challenges like frequent & severe crop failures. For them, access to clean drinking water is also a daily struggle.
*Our Vision*
i. To transform these villages into "Model Villages" by implementing sustainable water management solutions, including the installation of solar-powered tube wells, based on scientific groundwater mapping.
ii. Provide access to regular, clean water in tribal areas
iii. Focus on promoting agro-based education for women & farmers, for boosting agriculture, and empowering tribal communities, particularly women, ensuring a stable income and prosperous future for these communities.
iv. Education for children
*THE IMPACT*
We have been making continuous & significant progress by constructing
check dams and borewells, and have observed a noticeable improvement in the economy, health, and livelihood of the villagers.
Our goal is to provide these villages with Sustainable Agriculture for a better livelihood.
