Udaipur : A delegation from the Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met), New York, met Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, Trustee and Executive Director of the Maharana Mewar Charitable Foundation (MMCF), Udaipur, at the City Palace Museum under the ongoing workshop titled “The Met – Imaging, Education, and Conservation.”
During the meeting, the delegation engaged in an extensive discussion on education, preservation, painting, photography, and museum management.
The workshop, being held from November 10 to 14, is jointly organized by the Maharana Mewar Charitable Foundation and The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Its objective is to exchange modern techniques and processes related to the maintenance, preservation, and display of objects and artworks exhibited at the City Palace Museum. The initiative aims to further enrich the museum, making it more modern, dynamic, and experiential for visitors in the future.
Throughout the workshop, experts from The Met and MMCF will conduct presentations and interactive sessions focusing on imaging, curatorial studies, museum education, and brief historical overviews.
On the opening day, the visiting delegation was taken on a detailed tour of the City Palace Museum, where they were introduced to various curatorial activities, exhibition processes, and conservation initiatives. Members of The Met delegation included Savita Monie, Eleni Tsaras, Juan Trujillo, Chris Haynes, and Yuki Chok.
