Udaipur, November 8. The City of Lakes is set to host yet another prestigious national event. A National Conference on Agriculture and Livestock Entrepreneurship will be held in Udaipur from November 11 to 13, aimed at creating new opportunities in the field of rural livelihoods and economic transformation. The three-day conference is being organized by RAJEEVIKA (Rajasthan Grameen Aajeevika Vikas Parishad) and the Rural Development Department, Government of Rajasthan, in collaboration with the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India. Experts, policymakers, entrepreneurs, women from self-help groups, and state-level representatives from across the country will take part in the event.
Day 1 – Innovation and Direction (November 11)
The conference will begin at 10 a.m. with a lamp-lighting ceremony. The inaugural session will be graced by Dr. Kirodi Lal Meena, Minister, Rural Development Department, Rajasthan; Mr. Otaram Devasi, Minister of State, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department, Rajasthan; Mr. Shailesh Kumar Singh, Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India; Mr. T.K. Anil Kumar, Additional Secretary, Government of India; Mrs. Sreha Guha, Additional Chief Secretary, Rural Development Department, Rajasthan; and Mrs. Swati Sharma and Mrs. Smriti Sharan, Joint Secretaries, Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India.
Senior officials, including Additional Chief Secretaries, Secretaries of Rural Development Departments, and State Mission Directors from various states and Union Territories, will also attend. The event will feature the launch of a digital platform and the release of a compendium based on the “Lakhpati Didi” initiative, showcasing women’s empowerment through self-reliance.
Sessions will focus on themes such as “Transforming the Rural Economy through the Livestock Sector” and “Expanding Rural Enterprises from Producer Collectives to Business Collectives.” The day will conclude with a cultural evening.
Day 2 – Collaboration, Innovation, and Women Empowerment (November 12)
The second day will begin with a review of Day 1 proceedings. Several thematic sessions will be organized on “Collaboration for Action – Strengthening the Livelihood Ecosystem,” “Beyond Credit – Innovative Financial Architecture,” and “She-Life – Women-led Agri and Livestock Entrepreneurship.”
Discussions will focus on encouraging women entrepreneurs, developing new financial support models, and fostering collective business structures. The day will end with a cultural event.
Day 3 – Market Linkage and Field Exposure (November 13)
The final day will include Buyer-Seller Roundtables and Open B2B Discussion Sessions, focusing on marketing rural products, direct buyer interactions, and exploring trade partnerships. The conference will conclude with field visits to Jhadol, Rishabhdev, Rajsamand, and Dungarpur blocks, where participants will gain firsthand exposure to livelihood models and experience Rajasthan’s vibrant rural culture.
Objective of the Conference
The national conference aims to strengthen agriculture and livestock-based entrepreneurship in rural India, promote economic independence among women, and enhance rural enterprises through business-oriented approaches. According to RAJEEVIKA, the initiative is expected to generate many more success stories like the “Lakhpati Didi” movement, giving new momentum to the rural economy.
Preparations Underway
Divisional Commissioner and Acting Collector Ms. Pragya Kevalramani has instructed all concerned officials to ensure proper arrangements and effective coordination. District Project Manager Mr. Khyalilal Khatik of RAJEEVIKA informed that preparations are in full swing, with active cooperation from all related departments to ensure the success of the national conference.
