Udaipur: The books Anubhuti, an autobiography written by social worker Dr. Laxman Singh Karnawat, and Batori Hui Virasat, compiled by Pushpa Karnawat, were formally released at a ceremony held at Mahapragya Vihar.
The event was graced by Chief Guest Colonel (Prof.) Dr. S.S. Sarangdevot, Vice-Chancellor of Rajasthan Vidyapeeth. Dr. Dev Kothari and Madan Tated, Secretary of Parmarthik Seva Sansthan, were present as special guests. The program was presided over by Dr. Basantilal Babel, while editor and keynote speaker Dr. Pradeep Kumawat addressed the gathering.
Chief Guest Colonel (Dr.) S.S. Sarangdevot said that Karnawat’s dedication to society is evident through such initiatives. He praised the Karnawat family, noting that “where Lakshmi resides, Saraswati is naturally present,” highlighting the blend of service and literary excellence in their contributions.
He added that a book holds true value only when it reflects human consciousness, and both these books encapsulate life lessons, social service, and lived experiences.
Keynote speaker Dr. Pradeep Kumawat appreciated the dignity and depth in Karnawat’s writing. Referring to the stage as a gathering of distinguished scholars, he noted that writing an autobiography requires exceptional integrity and self-reflection.
Author Dr. Laxman Singh Karnawat shared that life is a journey between gain and loss, and his book captures his personal experiences, including the visits of three Acharyas to Udaipur. Inspired by his uncle, he began serving Acharya Tulsi, and later, guided by Sadhvi Pramukha, authored several works such as Terapanth Mahima and Mewar Mahima. He expressed gratitude for receiving more than he ever expected through his literary journey.
Pushpa Karnawat also shared her thoughts on the occasion.
Justice Dr. Basantilal Babel praised the quality of Karnawat’s writing, stating that compiling a work like Batori Hui Virasat is as challenging as “picking grains from a pile of hay.” The book chronicles the journey from Acharya Bhikshu to Acharya Mahashraman.
Several dignitaries, including Prof. Uma Shankar Sharma, Bhikham Chand, Madan Tated, Dr. K.L. Kothari, Mahendra Karnawat (Rajsamand), Suresh Dak, Kamal Nahata (President, Terapanth Sabha), and others shared their views about the Karnawat couple.
Dr. Dev Kothari highlighted the powerful language, selection of words, and historical value in the book, noting that Anubhuti contains several significant accounts not documented elsewhere, including a detailed narration of Acharya Tulsi’s Mewar journey. L.L. Dhakad also expressed his sentiments.
On behalf of the family, Lata Karnawat welcomed the guests. Usha Chavan introduced the book Batori Hui Virasat, describing it as a collection of responses from saints and sadhvis.
Guests including Sureshchandra Dak, Rajkumar Dak, Harshvardhan Chatravat, Paras Parmar, Dinesh Daga, Samudragupta Karnawat, Doongar Singh Karnawat, L.L. Dhakad, Mahendra, Chaitanya, Manish Karnawat, Bhagwatilal, and Parth Karnawat extended greetings to the dignitaries.
The ceremony began with a devotional invocation by Meena Karnawat and family. The program was coordinated by Alok Pagaria, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Kamal Karnawat.
