Women and Child Development Camp Held

: A Women and Child Development camp was organized by Maharana Pratap Agriculture and Technology University in Madar, a smart village. The program's chief guest, Director of Education Broadcast, Dr. R.A. Kaushik, emphasized the crucial role of women in agriculture, particularly in ensuring the nutritional security of their families. He provided information on advanced production techniques for summer vegetables like okra, bottle gourd, sponge gourd, ivy gourd, and pumpkin, as well as distributed improved seeds for crops like spinach, tomatoes, onions, among others, encouraging attendees to plant them in their home gardens.

Dr. Gayatri Tiwari, from the Acharya Samudayik and Vyavaharik Vigyan Mahavidyalaya, Udaipur, highlighted the importance of nutritious and balanced diets for children's health. She warned against malnutrition due to deficiencies in essential nutrients and distributed folders/leaflets on topics like reproductive health, maternal health, menstrual symptoms, and management.

Dr. R.S. Rathore, coordinator of the Smart Village, explained that the awareness camp was organized in collaboration with the Department of Women and Child Development. Its main objective was to promote the holistic development of women and children. He advised women's self-help groups to utilize advanced agricultural equipment such as improved stoves, solar cookers, solar lights, and sewing machines properly. He also emphasized the importance of proper grain storage to prevent spoilage throughout the year. Anganwadi workers Mrs. Panna Bai Sen and Mrs. Shanta Devi provided information on maternity security, Sukanya Yojana, and Ladli Lakshmi Yojana, urging increased participation in these schemes for maximum benefit.

Nutritional supplements were distributed to the women present at the camp, and Mr. Gopal Meena, an agriculture supervisor, thanked everyone for their participation. The camp saw the attendance of 40 women and children.
