Udaipur: A grand two-day International Neonatal Conference was successfully organized on July 5th and 6th at the Pacific Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Udaipur, Umarda. The event witnessed participation from renowned neonatologists from across India and abroad, facilitating an enriching exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of neonatal care.
The distinguished international guests included Ms. Catherine (France) and Dr. Sameer Gupta (United Kingdom). Among the eminent Indian participants were Dr. Somshekhar Nimbalakar (Karamsad), Dr. Ashish Mehta (Ahmedabad), Dr. Umesh Vaidya (Pune), Dr. Rahul Verma (Mumbai), Dr. Ravi Parikh (Ahmedabad), Dr. Satyen Hemrajani (Jaipur), Dr. Neeraj Gupta (Jodhpur), Dr. Naveen Gupta (Delhi), Dr. Srinivas Murthy (Mysore), Dr. Mahendra Jain (Bhopal), Dr. Sushil Gupta (Udaipur), Dr. Dheeraj Diwakar (Udaipur), Dr. Bijaylaxmi Behera (Chandigarh), and Dr. Pradeep Sharma (Chandigarh).

The pre-conference workshops conducted on the first day provided hands-on training in advanced ventilation, point-of-care ultrasound, and inborn errors of metabolism, which were well-received by the attendees.
A significant highlight of the conference was the presentation of over 150 research papers and posters. Researchers, students, and doctors from across India shared their research studies, case reports, and innovative ideas in neonatal healthcare. These presentations offered valuable insights into current neonatal research trends and future possibilities.
Judging of paper/poster presentations was done by respected clinicians such as Dr. Anuradha Sanadhya, Dr. Neetu Beniwal, Dr. Dileep Goyal, Dr. Dinesh Rajwania, Dr. Prasoon Bhattacharya, Dr. Bhupesh Jain, Dr. Mukesh Devpura, Dr. Bhanu Devpura, Dr. Subhash Bamanavat, Dr. Girish Bansal, Dr. Manoj Agrawal, and Dr. Nishant Dangi.
A Neonatology Quiz Competition for UG and PG students was also successfully organized by Dr. Ravi Bhatia, in which 19 teams enthusiastically participated. The quiz fostered a strong academic spirit and deepened the participants' interest in neonatal medicine.
Speaking on the occasion, PIMS Chairman Ashish Agarwal emphasized the institute’s commitment to becoming the leading neonatal care center in the state and highlighted the adoption of latest technological advancements to achieve this goal.
