Widespread Anger in Sangod Over BJP’s Alleged Destruction of Stadium

Sangod, A mourning meeting was organized by the Congress party at Maharav Bhimsingh Stadium in Sangod on 14 July to protest the alleged destruction of the stadium by the ruling BJP. The event was marked by a dramatic gesture from former Cabinet Minister Bharat Singh, who shaved his head in sorrow and protest.

Singh expressed his grief by recalling that the Congress government had spent ₹4.4 crore on the beautification and development of the stadium, which was allegedly razed and ruined during a BJP rally held on 7 July by the Rajasthan government under Bhajan Lal’s leadership.

Singh declared that this act has ignited widespread resentment among the people of Sangod, and predicted that the public would uproot both the BJP from the constituency and the Bhajan Lal-led government from Rajasthan in the upcoming elections.

The protest saw the participation of several Congress leaders and local dignitaries, including:

Also present were senior Congress leader Dhanna Lal Meghwal from Gurayata and a host of other local supporters.

The event highlighted not just political opposition but a strong public sentiment against what is perceived as the misuse of public infrastructure for political gains.
