In the World Junior Chess Championship organized by the World Chess Federation, All India Chess Federation, and Gujarat State Chess Federation in Gandhinagar, Delhi Public School's player Advika Sarupria delivered an outstanding performance, winning hearts of all.
Advika Sarupria triumphed over Mexico's Benito Di Leo in the first round, Russia's Woman FIDE Master (2239) Jurua Anna in the second round, and India's Maryam Fatima in the fifth round, progressing steadily towards victory. Additionally, she drew matches with Shivamshika G, Padmini S, Ashwinka Mani R, and Colombia's Brito Carrascal Isabela on the chessboard.
Principal Mr. Sanjay Narwaria shared that the championship was held from June 2 to June 13 at Gift City in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. With over 100 participants competing, Advika's remarkable performance earned her 5 points, improving her rating by more than 140 points. The school community congratulated the player and her parents on this achievement.
