the Udaipur-City Station witnessed the inauguration of Train No. 20981, the Udaipur-Agra Cantt Vande Bharat Express. The train was flagged off by Honorable Udaipur MP Mr. Mannalal Rawat and Honorable Udaipur (Rural) MLA Mr. Phool Singh Meena. The ceremony was attended by Regional Manager Udaipur Mr. Mahendra Depl, Chief Depot Officer Mr. Lav Dhakad, along with other railway officials, staff, and members of the public.
The new Vande Bharat Superfast train service, introduced by the Indian Railways to enhance passenger convenience and connect tourist destinations, operates tri-weekly between Udaipur City and Agra Cantt. Starting from September 2, 2024, Train No. 20981 will depart from Udaipur City at 05:45 AM and reach Agra Cantt at 2:30 PM. Conversely, Train No. 20982 will depart from Agra Cantt at 3:00 PM and arrive in Udaipur City at 11:45 PM on the same day. This service will halt at Rana Pratap Nagar, Mavli, Chanderia, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, and Gangapur City stations en route.
Due to the introduction of this new Vande Bharat service, the Udaipur City-Jaipur-Udaipur City Vande Bharat Superfast train will now operate only three days a week (Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday) instead of six days a week. On Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, the Udaipur City-Jaipur-Udaipur City Vande Bharat service will be permanently canceled.
