Udaipur: National Sports Day was celebrated with enthusiasm at Ambedkar Sports Ground in Gandhinagar, Mallatalai, under the aegis of the Ambedkar Sports Association. A large number of players, sports coaches and sports enthusiasts attended the event.
Addressing the gathering, Ambedkar Sports Association Sports Minister and District Cricket Association Vice President Vinod Kumar Rathore highlighted the significance of National Sports Day, observed on the birth anniversary of legendary Indian hockey player and Bharat Ratna awardee Major Dhyan Chand.
Rathore spoke about Dhyan Chand’s struggles, achievements and contribution to Indian sports. He said Dhyan Chand brought global recognition to Indian hockey through his talent, discipline and dedication, adding that his life continues to inspire young people and athletes.
Volleyball coaches Rajaram Chauhan and Lakhan Pawar were specially felicitated during the event for their contribution to sports.
Bhavesh Chauhan, Jeyesh Fumtia and a large number of players and sports enthusiasts were present.
The program also focused on encouraging players to participate regularly in sports and adopt a healthy and disciplined lifestyle.
