Udaipur : Indian filmmaker and international film festival jury member Amol Bhagat has been honored with the prestigious Nepal Excellence Award 2026 for his contribution to cinema, international film festivals and cultural exchange.
The award was presented by renowned Nepali singer Gyanu Rana at a grand ceremony held on Aug. 29 at the National Assembly Hall in Kathmandu. Organized by Bharat Samari and Samari International Pvt. Ltd., Nepal, the event brought together artists, professionals, cultural representatives and achievers from Nepal and other countries. The program also featured the Junior Supermodel International Beauty Pageant Show.
Bhagat is currently visiting Nepal and is involved in distributing food package kits to families affected by the recent devastating floods, promoting India-Nepal friendship and humanitarian cooperation.
Born in Pune and raised in rural Baramati, Bhagat has earned recognition through his work in Marathi cinema, including directing Pune to Goa. He has also served on juries of several national and international film festivals.
