Udaipur: Exciting matches were witnessed on Wednesday at the Rajasthan State Badminton Sub-Junior Under-17 Championship. The finals of the championship will be held on Thursday at 9 am, said Organising Secretary Sudhir Bakshi.
Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony. Udaipur City MLA Tarachand Jain and Roshan Badyal, Joint Commissioner, CGST, will be the Guests of Honour. Udaipur Badminton Association patrons Raj Lodha and Arvind Singhal will also attend the ceremony.
In the mixed doubles semifinals, Manas Gehlot and Lakshita Bhardwaj defeated Tanishq Sharma and Kavya Chaudhary 15-9, 16-14, while Kandarp Sharma and Deshna Jain beat Harman Pandit and Advika Sharma 15-4, 20-18 to enter the final.
In the girls’ singles semifinals, Ritika Jhamnani defeated Kavya Joshi 15-5, 13-15, 15-13 in a closely fought contest. Udaipur’s Nehal Sisodia defeated Lakshita Bhardwaj 15-12, 15-12 to book her place in the final.
In the boys’ singles, Shreyansh Chaudhary defeated Vayam Lamba 17-15, 7-15, 15-9, while Kandarp Sharma overcame Harman Pandit 8-15, 16-14, 15-4 to reach the final.
In the girls’ doubles semifinals, Aradhya Jodha and Deshna Jain defeated Joshika Prajapat and Padmaja Singh 15-3, 15-11. Kavya Joshi and Lakshita Bhardwaj defeated Advika Sharma and Danika Karel 15-13, 15-10 to advance to the final.
In the boys’ doubles, Rudraksh Midda and Utkarsh Singh Rathore defeated Anshuman Chaudhary and Garvit Barwar, while Harman Pandit and Kandarp Sharma defeated Akshat Shekhawat and Divyansh Tomar to secure their places in the final.
