Udaipur, The Shayarana Udaipur Family, which has been providing free literary and musical services for the past 16 years, will organise its monthly Literature and Music Festival on Sunday, August 30, at 11:30 a.m. at the Aishwarya College Auditorium. Entry to the event will be free.

Programme coordinator and poet Aabha Sirsikar said writers and musicians from Udaipur and neighbouring districts, including Rajsamand, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Nathdwara, Pratapgarh, Kherwara, Dungarpur and Sirohi, will participate in the event. Local artists as well as nationally recognised poets and musicians will present their performances.

The music competition will feature playback singing, light music, folk songs, ghazals, devotional songs, Rajasthani songs, thumri, film songs, parody songs and patriotic compositions, along with instrumental performances.

Poets will present works in Hindi, Rajasthani and other languages, covering diverse poetic moods and themes, including heroism, romance, separation and beauty.

Talented poets and musicians selected through the competition will be felicitated. This year, participants can present songs and compositions based on themes such as Sawan, Raksha Bandhan, friendship, love, devotion and patriotism. Participants may also choose a theme of their preference.
