Udaipur, Asking questions and remaining steadfast in seeking answers are essential for human progress, said international Vedic speaker Acharya Yogesh Bhardwaj, vice chancellor of Panini Arsh Vidyakulam, Badhedi, Muzaffarnagar, while addressing the second day of the six-day Vedic preaching program organized by Arya Samaj Hiran Magri on Monday.

Explaining the opening invocation of the Kathopanishad from the Katha branch of the Krishna Yajurveda, Bhardwaj narrated the dialogue between Nachiketa and Yama. He said every human being represents Nachiketa, while the Supreme Being is represented as the eternal truth beyond death. Nachiketa found answers to his spiritual questions by persistently questioning Yama, he said.

In his presidential address, Ashok Arya, president of Shrimad Dayanand Satyarth Prakash Nyas, said the Arya Samaj founder, Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati, was among the earliest proponents of the principle of “Nation First.” The intellectual revolution initiated by Maharishi Dayanand remains equally relevant today, he said.

The program began with devotional bhajans presented by preacher Pandit Keshav Dev Sharma. Special guest Muni Narendra Arya spoke about indigenous education and its role in transforming education into values, values into nation-building and nation-building into global welfare.

The day began with a yajna conducted for world welfare under the priesthood of Indra Prakash Vedic. Arya Samaj Hiran Magri president Sanjay Shandilya delivered the welcome address, while secretary Ved Mitra Arya proposed the vote of thanks. Deputy secretary Bhupendra Sharma conducted the proceedings.

The six-day Vedic preaching program is being held at the Arya Samaj Hiran Magri premises in Sector 4 from 7:30 to 10 a.m. and 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. daily through August 27.

The concluding session will be held on August 28 from 7:30 to 11 a.m. alongside the Shravani Upakarma festival. Devotees and members of the public interested in Vedic teachings have been invited to participate.
