Udaipur: The election office of Congress candidate Dr. Devilal Chaudhary, contesting from Ward No. 72 in the Udaipur Municipal Corporation elections 2026, was inaugurated with a grand ceremony followed by a ward meeting. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of local residents, including women, youth and Congress workers, who expressed their support for the candidate.
The programme was attended by Udaipur Rural District Congress Committee president and former MP Raghuveer Singh Meena, former MLA from Badi Sadri Prakash Chaudhary, former Rajasthan minister and state president of INTUC Jagdish Shrimali, former Girwa Pradhan Shyamlal Chaudhary, Block Congress Committee president Ajay Singh, Vipra Foundation Rajasthan state vice-president and INTUC state vice-president Harish Sharma, senior Congress leader Dr. Rao Kalyan Singh, along with several senior leaders and prominent citizens.
A large number of block-level office-bearers, mandal officials, ward presidents, ward in-charges and Congress workers were also present. The participants resolved to strengthen the election campaign and undertake door-to-door outreach to communicate the party’s policies and Dr. Chaudhary’s agenda to residents.
Raghuveer Singh Meena: Dr. Chaudhary is a Qualified, Educated and Committed Candidate
Addressing the ward meeting, former MP and Udaipur Rural District Congress Committee president Raghuveer Singh Meena described Dr. Devilal Chaudhary as a qualified, educated and local candidate who understands the issues confronting Ward 72.
Meena said the ward needs a representative who understands local problems and can consistently work towards their resolution. He highlighted Dr. Chaudhary’s previous efforts in raising his voice against corruption and said his commitment and experience would benefit the residents.
Referring particularly to issues related to property titles (patta) as well as various legal and administrative matters faced by residents, Meena said Dr. Chaudhary’s professional experience as an advocate would be an added advantage for the people of the ward.
He appealed to residents to make an informed choice by considering a candidate’s education, qualifications, experience, public service record and commitment to the welfare of the area.
Jagdish Shrimali: A Friendly, Soft-Spoken and Capable Candidate
Former Rajasthan minister and INTUC state president Jagdish Shrimali described Dr. Devilal Chaudhary as a friendly, soft-spoken, educated and capable candidate.
Shrimali said voters should give due importance to a candidate’s qualifications and personality while choosing their representative in the Municipal Corporation.
He stressed that elections should not be decided solely on political affiliations, but also on the candidate’s qualifications, conduct, social commitment, record of struggle and dedication towards the constituency. He appealed to residents to compare the qualifications and experience of Dr. Chaudhary with those of other candidates before making their choice.
Commitment to Addressing Local Issues
Speakers at the ward meeting highlighted the need for an effective public representative to address issues related to property titles, roads, drains, sanitation, water supply, electricity, civic infrastructure and other local development concerns.
They said the ward needs a representative who remains accessible to residents and can effectively raise their concerns before the Municipal Corporation and the administration.
Dr. Devilal Chaudhary thanked the residents and Congress workers for their support. He said his objective was not merely to win the election, but to become a strong voice for the people of Ward 72 and work continuously for the development of the area.
He assured residents that he would stand with every section of the ward and remain committed to resolving their problems through sustained efforts.
The programme witnessed considerable enthusiasm among residents and party workers, with significant participation by women and youth adding to the impact of the event.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Congress office-bearers, ward presidents, ward in-charges and party workers collectively resolved to undertake extensive door-to-door campaigning and mobilise public support for Dr. Devilal Chaudhary in Ward 72.
