Udaipur: Rotary Club Elite undertook a community service initiative to support women vendors earning their livelihood by selling corn and other items along the roadside between Fateh Sagar Kala Kiwad and the Devali end.

Club President Ramesh Modi said 20 large umbrellas were distributed free of cost to help the women protect themselves from the sun and rain while carrying out their daily work. The umbrellas were provided with the support of club member Shubhra Gupta.

Club Secretary Anita Jain, former president Sarita Dugad, Sushila Mehta, Shubhra Gupta, Sadhna Talesara, Shweta Galundia, Priyanka Chordia and Isha Sharma, along with other members, participated in the distribution drive.

Modi expressed his appreciation to the women members for their support in making the service initiative successful and encouraged them to continue participating actively in similar community welfare activities.

Jain said the club is planning a second phase of the initiative, during which a larger number of umbrellas will be distributed to women vendors in the area.

The initiative aimed to provide practical support to women who work outdoors and help them continue their livelihoods with greater protection from changing weather conditions.
