Hindustan Zinc Organizes Awareness Sessions Under CSR for Organ Donation
Focusing on raising awareness about health, Hindustan Zinc, in collaboration with Organ India and as part of its CSR program for healthcare services, organized a series of awareness sessions on organ donation at six locations in five districts near their area. These sessions saw the participation of more than 2,900 beneficiaries.
Dr. Saurabh Sharma from Organ India educated the people about the necessity and importance of organ donation through interactive sessions. He dispelled some common myths and presented several successful examples of organ transplantation from Rajasthan. The sessions provided information about what organ donation entails, who can donate, the significance of organ donation, legal aspects, myths and facts related to the subject, and the pledge for organ and tissue donation. At the end of each session, a short film on organ donation was screened, and informational booklets, comic books, and frequently asked questions were distributed among the beneficiaries.
The participants in these sessions included students from government schools in Chanderiya, Agucha, Dariba, Jawar, Kayad, and Debari, trainees from the Zinc Skill Academy, women from the Sakhi Self-Help Groups, athletes from the Zinc Football Academy, farmers from the Samadhan Project, and doctors from the Zinc Hospital.
