Vigilance in Sensitive Areas Urged by Flying Squads and Static Surveillance Teams

Ganganagar: Prashant Kumar Sinha, the appointed Expenditure Observer for the Ganganagar Assembly constituency as part of the 2023 Legislative Assembly elections, conducted a meeting with the Flying Squads (FS) and Static Surveillance Teams (SST) for both the Forest Settlement (FS) and Special Surveillance Teams (SST).

Sinha directed the responsible officials and team members from both FS and SST to ensure heightened vigilance in sensitive areas regarding election expenses. He stressed that the FS team in the district had been actively taking continuous actions, which resulted in increased seizures of materials related to electoral activities. Nomination processes for SST had also commenced. Therefore, in light of the electoral environment, it is essential to coordinate effectively among all flying squads to ensure a peaceful and well-conducted election.

While directing the teams to submit information in designated forms, Sinha also emphasized that all teams should work diligently under the guidance of the District Electoral Officer and Nodal Officers. The discussion covered various tasks related to Expenditure Observers, Assistant Expenditure Observers, video surveillance teams, video-graphy checks, audit teams, and excise teams.

District Election Officer and District Collector Anshdeep appreciated the efforts of the FS and SST teams and encouraged underperforming FS teams to improve their performance. Continuous action on the designated route must be ensured, and the checking of each vehicle is imperative. There should be no zero progress in any area. Anshdeep emphasized the need for rigorous monitoring in the Ganganagar and Sadulshahar Assembly constituencies, highlighting the importance of taking serious action.

Anshdeep instructed the concerned department officers to work diligently in cooperation with returning officers and the Nodal Officers. In terms of security measures, he directed teams to exercise extra caution in sensitive areas, ensuring continuous monitoring by sector officers.

Vikas Sharma, the District Police Superintendent, also instructed the FS and SST to check each vehicle regularly and not to leave their positions before the arrival of a reliever. He pointed out the need for thorough inspections of public transport and the maintenance of heightened vigilance on major routes.

The meeting was attended by the CEO of the District Council, Bhawani Singh Panwar, CEO (FS and SST) Sanjeev Chauhan, Krishna Kumar Sharma, and Surendra Soni, along with other officials.
