Sri Ganganagar - In compliance with the directives of the Election Commission of India for the 2023 General Assembly Elections, Prashant Kumar Sinha, the Expenditure Observer for the Sri Ganganagar and Sadulshahar constituencies, along with Sunil Kisan Agawane, the Expenditure Observer for the Karanpur, Sriganganagar, Suratgarh, Rayasinghnagar, and Anoopgarh constituencies, conducted an inspection of the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MC) and the Cable News and Media cells at the Information Center on Tuesday.
During the inspection, detailed information regarding election expenses related to candidates and political parties were gathered. Mr. Agawane examined various aspects, including advertising expenditures, social media promotion by candidates and parties, the cost of posters, pamphlets, and expenses incurred during election campaigning. The Observer stressed the need to monitor all expenditures meticulously.
Additionally, information about the amounts spent on political advertisements and campaign promotions on different television channels, cable, and election campaign materials were also reviewed. Mr. Agawane expressed satisfaction with the work conducted by the MC and emphasized that expenses would be included in the accounts of political parties and candidates in a manner consistent with the pace of election campaign activities. He further directed that, as the pace of election campaigning accelerates, the work should be aligned with the expenditure of political parties and respective candidates accordingly.
Furthermore, rigorous monitoring will also be maintained over any form of political advertising on various TV channels, cable networks, and election campaign materials. Mr. Agawane lauded the work undertaken by the MC and Media Cells and instructed that expenses should be incorporated into the accounts of political parties and relevant candidates as the election campaign activities pick up momentum.
Apart from the Expenditure Observers, Bhawani Singh Panwar, the Sweep Observer, and the CEO of the District Council, was also present for the inspection.
