As part of the Indian Language Festival, a book exhibition showcasing the published works of tourism writer Dr. Prabhat Kumar Singhal was organized. Dr. Prabhat Kumar Singhal, a retired Joint Director of Public Relations, Rajasthan, has authored 29 books and edited 14 books, totaling 45 books with his signature on display. The exhibition was inaugurated at the Government Public Library, with the chief guest being eminent litterateur Jitendra Nirmohi, and the presidency held by senior storyteller and critic Vijay Joshi.
Jitendra Nirmohi, in his address, emphasized the need for continuous creative dialogue while reading. Vijay Joshi, the president, highlighted the significance of the library as a space for constructive dialogue. He urged attendees to use the occasion to discuss ideas, purpose, and books within the context of the society. Dr. Prabhat Singhal, the author, emphasized the role of writing in enriching the past and guiding future generations.
The exhibition featured books such as "Kota: An Alternative Perspective" (2003), "Hadoti – Karauli Exploration" (2004), "Chambal for the New Literates," "Temples of Hadoti," "Rajasthan Police Administration" (Research), "Adorable Pilgrimage," "Rajasthan's Devotional Places," "Incredible India – Travelogue," and many more. The showcased works covered diverse subjects like adventure sports, media, heritage conservation, Islamic architecture in Indian tourism, and the cultural significance of Jain temples.
Dr. Deepak Kumar Shrivastav, Regional Library Director, emphasized that writing is the best exercise for the human brain and contributes to maintaining mental health. The exhibition aimed to provide a platform for readers not only to explore written content but also to engage in direct conversations with the author.
Among the edited books, the collection included titles like "Smile and Work Cartoon Book," "Progressive Smiles," "Changing Image," "Ray of Hope" (for disappointed and stressed youth), "Freedom Golden Jubilee," "Panchayati Raj and Rural Development in Rajasthan," "Advancing Rajasthan – Industry, Business, Commerce," "Sriganganagar Guide," "Ajmer Region Handbook," "Horticulture (Flower, Fruit, Vegetable, Spice, and Medicinal Farming)," "Rajasthan and Today's Kota," "Media – Communication Medium," "Mental Health," and "Karmayogi," among others.
Program coordinator Shashi Jain emphasized that such events expand the vision of the Human Library concept, where readers not only read books but also engage in direct conversations with authors, creating a dynamic exchange of ideas and perspectives.
