### NIMS University Pro-Chancellor Meets AIU Joint Secretary for Youth and Sports
**New Delhi, ** During a visit to Delhi, Prof. Amarika Singh, Pro Chancellor of NIMS University, met with Dr. Baljeet Singh Sekhon, Joint Secretary (Youth and Sports) of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Prof. Amarika Singh was honored with a traditional Rajasthani turban, shawl, and a memento from NIMS University.
Present at the meeting were Dr. Kuldeep Singh Jhala, Secretary of the NIMS University Sports Board, Dr. Govind Upadhyay, Pro Chancellor's personal secretary, and Ashutosh Singh among others.
Key points discussed included:
- NIMS University's preparation to host "Khelo India University Games" as envisioned by the university's founder and Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Balbir Singh Tomar.
- Proposals for hosting West Zone and All India Inter-University Games for 2024-25.
- Dr. Baljeet Singh Sekhon's comments on the potential development of both education and sports at NIMS University under the leadership of Prof. Amarika Singh.
- Dr. Kuldeep Singh Jhala’s proposals for hosting North West Zone Football (Men) and West Zone Handball (Women) competitions, which received preliminary approval.
Furthermore, Dr. Baljeet Singh Sekhon has been invited to visit NIMS University in August to discuss the development of necessary infrastructure for sports in Jaipur, Rajasthan, in alignment with the goals of the Khelo India University Games.
