Udaipur, Balancing professional life with time for child-rearing is as crucial as dedicating time to business, raising concerns that children’s upbringing is increasingly being left to nannies. This issue was highlighted during the third working committee meeting of the fourth session of the South Rajasthan Provincial Maheshwari Women's Organization, titled 'Fuhar.'
Hosted by the Udaipur District Maheshwari Women's Organization at the Mahesh Seva Samiti premises in Hiran Magri, Udaipur, the meeting discussed women's self-reliance along with the preservation and enhancement of family relationships and social traditions. All female speakers emphasized the importance of balancing professional work with social values. Outgoing President Kuntal Toshniwal expressed concern over the trend of the current generation relying on nannies for child-rearing while going to work, posing this as a question to the committee.
Udaipur District President Manju Gandhi informed that the meeting began with lamp lighting, Mahesh Vandana, and a welcome dance. Guests were welcomed with the sound of the Maheshwari Mahila Ghosh. The organization's report was presented by State Secretary Dr. Sushila Asawa. State President Seema Kogta welcomed everyone, and Treasurer Vinita Baheti provided the income and expenditure details. State Organization Minister Chanda Namdhar shared organizational information.
Gandhi mentioned that under the permanent project 'Vidya Suvidha,' the Udaipur District Organization initiated the opening of a book bank to support needy children in the education sector. This book bank was inaugurated by national, regional, and state officials and is the first of its kind in the state. Officials were also shown the previously running medical bank. The monthly financial support provided to 18 widows by the Udaipur District Organization was also highlighted.
A program emphasizing the importance of family relationships was conducted under the Raghu Kul Reet Siddha Samiti. Committee guides and Western Region Joint Minister Shikha Bhadada, Regional Co-Incharge Shraddha Gattani, and State Coordinator Maan Kanwar Kabra provided crucial information on insurance, property, and bank accounts through various scenarios, emphasizing the importance of this knowledge for women. An oath and forms were used to raise awareness among women.
Namrata Bihani, National In-Charge of the Ashta Siddhi Committee, stressed the importance and practice of the five Ps in daily life. Under the Sanjeevani Siddha Committee, First Aid Kits were provided by Committee Coordinator Madhu Kabra. Awards were given to sisters who won various national and regional competitions, and participants in other programs were also honored.
Former National Treasurer Kaushalya Gattani, National Organization Minister of the All India Maheshwari Women's Organization Mamta Modani, and others shared their thoughts on current social issues. Members also presented dances, skits, and patriotic poems. As part of the organization's permanent project on vocational skills, the Udaipur District Organization's members set up a Women's Haat Bazaar to promote self-reliance among sisters. Chhavi Bhadada and Seema Lahoti conducted the program beautifully, leading it to success.
