Udaipur, The National Art Camp organized by the Western Zone Cultural Centre Udaipur (Ministry of Culture, Government of India), Diu Tourism, and Bal Bhavan Board will conclude on Wednesday in Diu. The grand closing ceremony will feature an exhibition of paintings created by the participants.
From Udaipur, talented artists Dr. Prashika Dwivedi, Prof. Rajesh Yadav, and Sonam Phulwaria are participating, showcasing local culture through their art. Dr. Prashika's abstract paintings highlight the natural beauty and historical significance of Diu.
### 'INS Khukri Captivates Attention':
Dr. Prashika Dwivedi’s symbolic depiction of INS Khukri received high praise from Diu Collector Bhanuprabha. Dr. Prashika illustrated the INS Khukri, an Indian Navy warship sunk by a Pakistani submarine during the 1971 India-Pakistan war, 40 nautical miles off the coast of Diu. Captain Mahendra Nath Mulla, awarded the Mahavir Chakra posthumously, chose to go down with his ship, exemplifying the Navy's indomitable spirit and courage. This painting pays tribute to these brave souls.
Dr. Prashika believes that a successful artist works for self-satisfaction, striving to balance art, business, technology, and style. Skilled in both painting and graphics, she excels in abstract compositions.
Currently, Dr. Prashika is an Assistant Professor of Painting at Seth Mathuradas Binani Government College, Nathdwara. Passionate about painting since childhood, she holds a Ph.D. in Visual Arts from Sukhadia University, Udaipur, and a Senior Diploma in Kathak dance. Her versatile work spans various art forms, often focusing on abstract creations and emotional, social, philosophical, and spiritual themes. Using acrylic on canvas and collage techniques, she brings texture and value to life on the canvas. Dr. Prashika has participated in numerous national and international workshops.
