SAARC Journalists Forum International Conference Concludes, Honours Outstanding Journalists

Jaipur: A two-day international conference was organized under the joint aegis of Apex University and the SAARC Journalists Forum. The theme of the conference was the role of journalism in establishing peace and cooperation among South Asian countries. The conference was chaired by Raju Lama.

During the event, various individuals were honored for their exceptional contributions in different categories. Journalist Sheikh Rais Ahmed from Rajasthan received an international honor for his work in regional language journalism. Other awardees included Professor Sanjeev Bhanawat, Professor Vandana Pandey, Dr. Garima, Saeed Arif (Urdu language), Mohammad Yusufuddin Qadri (English language), Rahul Samantha (Sri Lanka, electronic media), Arif Ansari (Nepali language electronic media), and Deependra Prajapati (Nepali language print media). They were presented with certificates of recognition.

Over 200 journalists, intellectuals, and representatives from South Asian countries participated in the conference. The discussions centered on regional peace, cooperation, counter-terrorism efforts, and collective prosperity. The tragic incident in Pahalgam was also discussed in-depth, and a memorial service for the martyrs was held, with a two-minute silence observed.

Speakers at the conference included Raju Lama, President of the SAARC Journalists Forum; Rahul Samanta, President of the Sri Lanka Chapter; Anirudh Sudhansu, President of the India Chapter; and Dr. Ravi Junewal, Chairperson of Apex University, who all shared their views on these critical issues.
