### ‘12 Angry Men’ Staged at Shilpgram

Udaipur,  The acclaimed play ‘12 Angry Men’ was powerfully staged at Shilpgram under the monthly theatre evening Rangshala, organized by the West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur. The auditorium, packed with enthusiastic theatre lovers, echoed with applause for the striking performances and thought-provoking narrative.

Directed by NSD graduate and Assistant Professor at Allahabad University, Vishal Vijay, the play was presented by Jaipur-based Fourth Wall Dramatic Society. Notably, the group has been staging this play since 2019, and this marked its 13th performance, making its Udaipur debut truly memorable.

WZCC Director Furqan Khan shared that the monthly Rangshala series aims to bring powerful and socially relevant theatre to local audiences. The realism of 12 Angry Men, sharp dialogues, and stellar ensemble acting were widely praised. The play, beyond entertainment, served as a mirror to society and human psychology.

The event was graced by dignitaries including Deputy Director (Programs) Pawan Amarawat, C.L. Salvi, Rakesh Mehta, and many others from the city’s art and culture fraternity. The evening was ably hosted by Siddhant Bhatnagar.

Gripping Plotline That Stirred the Audience
Written by Reginald Rose and adapted in Hindi by veteran theatre artist Ranjit Kapoor, the story revolves around 12 jury members deciding the fate of a murder accused. As deliberations unfold, their personal biases, egos, and life experiences complicate what should be a unanimous verdict. Set entirely within a single jury room, the narrative’s tension held the audience riveted from start to finish.

Powerful Performances by Young Talents
The cast portraying the 12 jurors—Sanchit Jain, Yogendra Singh Parmar, Chitrarth Mishra, Kamlesh Bairwa, Sandeep Mishra, Ankit Sharma, Rahul Panwar, Hrithik Sharma, Gaurav, Aqib Mirza, Vaibhav Dixit, and Dikshank—brought each character vividly to life. Vinay Saini also delivered a noteworthy performance in the role of the courtroom guard.

Strong Technical Execution
Sound design was handled by Vimal, with lighting by Deshraj. Gaurav Gautam took care of set design, costumes were arranged by A.S. Alvi, props by Ishana Pareek, and makeup by Aslam Pathan. Yogendra Singh Parmar also contributed as assistant director.
