P&G Shiksha and NGO Pratham Foundation Conclude Special Summer Camp

Udaipur : Celebrating 20 years of positively impacting thousands of underserved communities through its flagship CSR initiative P&G Shiksha, P&G India – maker of brands like Tide, Vicks, Gillette etc. – partnered with Pratham Education Foundation to organize a special large-scale nationwide summer learning camp for underserved children in Rajasthan. The camp, called ‘CAMaL (Combined Activities for Maximized Learning) Ka Camp’, aimed at enabling all participating children to leverage the summer break and learn to read fluently with understanding, express their thoughts both orally and in writing, and develop strong analytical and math skills by the end of the program.

Across Rajasthanthe program has mobilized nearly 18,600 youth volunteers, who collectively taught over 2.44+ lakh children across underserved communities—turning the summer into a season of accelerated learning. The camp was organized with immense support from the state government and local governance bodies, NGOs and colleges.

Commenting on the initiative, Enakshee Deva – Head – CSR & Communications, Procter & Gamble India, said, “At P&G Shiksha, we believe that learning should never stop—especially for children in underserved communities. We are immensely proud to partner with Pratham Education Foundation for CAMaLKa Camp 2025! Together with our volunteers on the ground, we are reimagining the summer break for the participating children – from a time when their learning regresses, to a powerful window for building foundational skills in reading and math, via play-based activities to retain the fun of vacation time. What makes this initiative truly special is the scale and spirit of collaboration—it’s completely owned and driven by the community, for the community – with a prominent support from state governments. By equipping nearly 18,600 young volunteers with the right tools and training, and reaching over 2.44+ lakh children across Rajasthan, the Camp is creating a ripple effect of learning, empowerment, and hope. This is a testament to what’s possible when purpose meets partnership.”

Rukmini Banerji, CEO, Pratham Education Foundation, stated, “2025 is a special year for us at Pratham as we celebrate our 30th anniversary. It’s also a milestone for our long-standing partner, P&G Shiksha, which turns 20. So, we felt it was the right time to come together and do something big and impactful. That’s how the idea for CAMaLKa Camp 2025 was conceived—a summer initiative aimed at strengthening the foundational skills of children transitioning from primary to middle school (Grade 5 to Grade 6). Many of these children missed their early years of schooling due to the COVID-19 pandemic and need support to strengthen and “catch up” on their basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills, so they enter Grade 6 after the summer break with greater confidence and improved capability.
