New Delhi/Rajasthan Legislative Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani, during his official visit to Germany on Tuesday, visited the office of the Regierender Bürgermeister (Governing Mayor) of Berlin and the German State Assembly.
During the visit, the Berlin Mayor informed Devnani that the State Assembly building stands not only as a symbol of Berlin’s administrative strength but also as a living example of modern democratic governance.
On this occasion, Devnani observed the intricacies of Berlin’s administrative functioning, democratic structure, and digital governance. He praised the transparency and systematic organization of the model and referred to the administrative framework of the Berlin Senate and its implementation of public welfare policies as “an exemplary expression of organized democracy.”
Devnani remarked that the administrative model of a historic and culturally rich city like Berlin demonstrates how a city can shape its future through technology, civic participation, and transparency. He added that this experience serves as a great inspiration for the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly.
This historic visit not only fostered an exchange of administrative practices but also strengthened the shared consciousness of democratic values between two ancient civilizations — India and Germany.
Devnani extended his congratulations to the Berlin administration for its robust leadership and innovation-driven systems. He described the visit as “a journey from one thoughtful democracy to another” — a meaningful confluence of experiences, dialogue, and inspiration. Principal Secretary of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, Bharat Bhushan Sharma, also accompanied him on this visit.
