Jain Social Group "Kutumb" Takes the Lead in Rainwater Harvesting Initiative
According to Lord Mahavir, failing to conserve water is considered a grave sin and a moral wrongdoing. Keeping this profound message in mind, Jain Social Group “Kutumb” has taken a major step towards environmental responsibility. Group President Praveen Nahar, along with his elder brother Chand Singh Nahar, has installed rooftop rainwater harvesting systems at their residence in Arvind Nagar, Sundervas.
This system will prevent rainwater from being wasted into the drains and instead redirect it into the groundwater through the home's tube well, leading to enhanced water table levels and improved water quality.
The inauguration of both rooftop systems was carried out this morning by Mr. Arun Mandot, Chairman of Jain Social Group Mewar Region. He encouraged all group members to adopt rooftop rainwater harvesting in their own homes to conserve every drop of rainwater.
This initiative will help recharge approximately 2 lakh liters of pure rainwater into the ground during a single monsoon season, with an estimated market value of ₹40 lakhs.
Praveen Nahar, who is also associated with Mahavir Navyuvak Mandal Sundervas, Jain Social Group "Kutumb", Consumer Protection Organisation New Delhi, and Seva Sanyojak of Bharat Vikas Parishad "Subhash", has appealed to all members to install rooftop rainwater harvesting systems at their homes before the start of this monsoon and become a source of inspiration for others.
He emphasized: “We may not be able to create water, but we can certainly conserve the divine gift that nature has given us for free.”
This initiative was carried out under the guidance of Dr. P.C. Jain, Provincial Water Conservation & De-addiction In-charge, Bharat Vikas Parishad, who was also honored as a Water Hero by the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti. Prominent dignitaries including Former Councillor Karanmal Jaroli, Bhupesh Khimesara, and Paras Khudiya were present during the occasion.
