Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani wishes on International Parliament Day

Jaipur, Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani has congratulated and wished all the MPs, MLAs and public representatives of the country and abroad on the occasion of International Parliament Day. He said that Parliament and Legislative Assemblies are not only legislative forums, but are living symbols of public faith, responsibility and democratic consciousness. This day reminds us that public representation is not only a right, but an obligation of duty, service and sensitivity.

Devnani informed that in the year 2018, June 30 was recognized as International Parliament Day by the United Nations. This date was fixed in memory of the establishment of the Inter Parliament Union, which is a representative organization of the parliaments of the world and works for democratic values, dialogue and legislative empowerment. He said that the more we uphold the values ​​of parliamentary dignity, purity of dialogue, decorum of conduct in the House and the highest priority of public interest, the deeper and more permanent democracy will be.

Devnani said that when the Parliament is vigilant, the society is empowered. When dialogue is strong, the nation develops. He said that today's day inspires us to think whether we are upholding the dignity of our democratic institutions with as much sincerity as our Constitution and citizens expect from us.

Devnani said that the Rajasthan Assembly has made legislative work more transparent, digital and accountable through many innovative efforts like e-Vidhan system, training sessions of members, effectiveness of question hour, and citizen participation. He said that the ideal legislative system of the 21st century can be established only by balancing new technology and traditional values ​​in democracy. Devnani called upon all public representatives to give voice to the aspirations of the people, rise above party politics and have positive and meaningful discussions in the House, and make the resolution of public service the aim of their lives. 
Devnani said that today is not just a day of celebration, it is an opportunity for introspection so that we can strengthen legislative dignity, democratic responsibility and the decorum of public relations.
