Udaipur, The monthly meeting of Jain Social Group (Main), Udaipur, was held at the Vigyan Samiti Auditorium with a focus on environmental awareness and dental health. The session began with a prayer song by Trishla Dak and team, followed by the Federation sutra recitation by Kamal Kothari, after which members participated in a yoga session.
President K.S. Nalwaya welcomed the members and highlighted that the group had completed 61 service initiatives over the past three months. Secretary Gautam Nagori presented the plan for the upcoming quarter and encouraged members to update their information on the group’s online portal.
Environmentalist Dr. M.G. Varshney was the chief guest, and media in-charge Professor Vimal Sharma was specially invited and felicitated by the executive team. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Varshney emphasized that while achieving a plastic-free world is difficult, recycling and proper disposal can significantly aid environmental preservation. He urged members to plant trees on happy occasions, carry cloth bags while shopping, and install rooftop solar systems and water harvesting setups at home.
Prof. Vimal Sharma, in his address, commended the group’s unity, as seen by the attendance of over 200 members, and expressed pride in serving as the group’s media in-charge. He praised the group’s charitable activities such as donating stationery and computers to schools, distributing sewing machines to underprivileged women, serving meals at old age homes, and organizing compassion-based events.
On the occasion of his wedding anniversary, Rajendra Kumar Khokhawat gifted a sewing machine to a destitute woman under the JSG banner.
Outside the auditorium, a dental camp was conducted by Dr. Rajat Varshney and Dr. Ankita Gupta of City Dental & Implant Centre, where around 150 members received dental checkups and X-rays. Dr. Rajat Varshney also addressed the members on oral care and provided detailed insights into dental implants.
Kiran Jain was honored for her participation in the “Kaun Banega Crorepati” show on two occasions. Members who celebrated birthdays or anniversaries in June were warmly greeted and felicitated.
Vice President Kamal Kothari concluded the program by extending a vote of thanks, followed by the national anthem and a self-serve dinner for all attendees.
