BUILDING A HEALTHIER FUTURE: SAPTA SHAKTI COMMAND

Jaipur : We live in a time of remarkable medical advancements. Yet, despite the technology at our fingertips, we face rising rates of chronic diseases, mental health challenges and life style-related illness. These are not just medical issues but amalgamate as community issues, economic issues and personal issues.

Physical and mental wellbeing of all ranks and families through quality health care facilities is the primary focus of Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, Army Commander, Sapta Shakti Command since very beginning since it directly impacts the operational efficiency of units and formations. Accordingly, under his guidance, Sapta Shakti Command has taken number of initiatives to improve health care facilities. In the last 12 months, various outreach programmes have been conducted including the crucial ‘Cataract Surgery Camp', providing high end doorstep surgery to 250 patients, ‘Cancer Screening Camp, Blood Donation Camp and Counselling Sessions. All these events were a grand success with immense patient participation, thereby enhancing the level of satisfaction. In Dec 2024, an Early Intervention Centre was established having all facets of medical sciences including traditional ones like Homeopathy and Ayurveda, which are being optimally utilised. For an efficient stress management and good mental wellbeing of all ranks, Wellness Counsellors are available at many stations. In order to manage large flux of patient, Integrated Health Centres have also been established in Jaipur and all major stations of Sapta Shakti Command. Further, to make stay of NOK/ attendants comfortable, a Patient Transit Facility has also been established for all ranks at few stations.

Keeping pace with technological advancements in medicine, a state of art, biplane cardiac catheterisation laboratory (CCL), first of its kind in Jaipur City was inaugurated at Military Hospital Jaipur by Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, Army Commander, South Western Command on 03 July 2025. The project adds MH Jaipur to the list of selected zonal and command hospitals to have acquired this niche state of art facility. This facility coupled with a non-invasive laboratory will cater for comprehensive cardiac care with the availability of most cardiac care procedures under one roof to the needs of troops, dependents and veterans in Jaipur as well as entire area of responsibility of the command.

 

Relentless in its efforts, the Sapta Shakti Command has planned a number of initiatives in future to ensure a proactive approach to provide impetus to health care. Interactive Session ‘Beat Bad Cholesterol’; seminar on ‘Nursing Adaptations in the Digital Era’; a drive to make Military Hospitals ‘Green Zone’; are a few remarkable one. Military Hospital Jaipur will soon have facility of Mammography for early breast cancer detection too.

Sapta Shakti Command is committed towards provision of best health care facilities within the command for all ranks and families and with continued support of Veterans community, it will continue to take further leap in ensuing a healthier future following the national motto, ’Sarve Santu Niramaya’.
