Public Anger Surfaces in RTI Jagriti Sansthan’s Monthly Meeting

Citizens Urged to Join Anti-Corruption Movement: Mehan

Hanumangarh – A strong wave of public discontent surfaced during the monthly meeting of the RTI Jagriti Sansthan, held under the leadership of President Praveen Mehan at the Sansthan’s office on Chak Jwalasinghwala Road, Junction. The meeting focused on the widespread corruption in government offices, prompting serious deliberation among attendees.

President Praveen Mehan stated that the institution was formed with a sincere intention of uniting RTI activists and streamlining monitoring of government activities. The Sansthan serves as a front to address all RTI-related matters, including training, guidance, assistance, and protection of activists.

Vice President Anil Jandu allocated specific government departments to each official and member based on a “beat system.” RTIs were drafted on the spot by the designated officials under Mehan’s supervision, targeting key corrupt practices in several departments including the Department of Women and Child Development, Stamps and Registration, Municipal Council, Electricity Department, Forest Department, and the District Transport Department.

During the discussions, Mehan emphasized, “It is not solely my responsibility as president to fight corruption. Every member and citizen must contribute to this sacred mission like offering a ritual sacrifice in a yajna.”

General Secretary Ramesh Dargan urged each member to file at least two RTI applications every month in public interest.

Working President Lalit Chaddha reinforced the importance of submitting reports to the Sansthan office after filing RTIs.

Anil Jandu clarified that departments were divided among members to distribute responsibilities evenly and prevent overload. He also guided new members through the application and appeal process, encouraging them to work vigilantly.

Vinod Yadav instructed that as soon as an RTI response is received, it should be reported immediately to the office. He also advised members to report any instance of non-response, inducement, or threats without delay.

During the meeting, five key issues that emerged from RTI replies were intensively discussed by the office bearers and members. A major outcome was the decision that the Sansthan will soon expose large-scale corruption in various departments through upcoming RTI disclosures.

The meeting was attended by Madan Mohan Sharma, Ramesh Beniwal, Devvrat Bhojak, Rajkumar Saini, Rajkumar Garg, Sonu Verma, Dayood Mehan, and Ramesh Chamoli, among others.
