Special Preventive Campaign Over 2 Lakh Litres of Wash Destroyed in Rajasthan

939 Cases Registered – 767 Arrested

Udaipur,  Under the directives of Excise Commissioner Shivprasad Nakate, an intensive statewide preventive campaign was launched to curb illegal liquor production, storage, transportation, and sale. As part of this drive, the Excise Department took stringent action in June, resulting in the destruction of 2,08,165 litres of illicit wash.

During this campaign, 939 cases were registered, and 767 individuals were arrested for involvement in illegal liquor-related activities.

According to the Excise Commissioner, effective enforcement was carried out across the state to clamp down on illegal liquor activities. The department also seized 9,108 bottles of Indian-made foreign liquor, 7,002 bottles of country liquor, 4,314 bottles of illicit liquor, and 2,205 bottles of beer. Additionally, one kilogram of cannabis and 410 litres of spirit were confiscated.

Additional Excise Commissioner Pradeep Singh Sangawat informed that under the Rajasthan Excise Act, 939 cases were filed in June alone. A total of 26 vehicles used in illegal liquor transportation were also seized, including 16 two-wheelers, 6 light four-wheelers, 1 heavy four-wheeler, and 3 other vehicles.
