Jaipur:The prestigious Thewa art from Pratapgarh, a town in southern Rajasthan, has transcended national borders and reached Russia this year. At the Bharat Utsav 2025 exhibition held in Moscow, Raghav Rajsoni—representing the sixth generation of the Rajsoni family—brought global recognition to India by showcasing this intricate and ancient art. He was honoured in Moscow for his outstanding display of Thewa artistry.
The exhibition was inaugurated in the presence of India’s Ambassador to Russia, Vinay Kumar, and Bulat Nurmukhanov, Vice President of the Moscow Tourism Committee. Odisha MP Sujeet Kumar graced the occasion as a special guest, along with Delhi Chief Secretary Dharmendra (IAS) and Delhi’s Tourism Secretary Niharika Rai.
Raghav Rajsoni has inherited the legacy of Thewa art from his late father, Padma Shri awardee Mahesh Rajsoni, who brought international fame to this unique craft. Raghav has been innovating with new designs and recently set a remarkable milestone by receiving his first international award for Thewa art in Kazakhstan.
He shared that his mission is to further popularize Thewa art globally. His participation in Moscow was made possible through the support of Pratapgarh District Industries Center, the ODOP (One District One Product) initiative, and Invest India under the Government of India. The love and appreciation from the audience, along with prestigious awards, have deeply inspired him to continue his artistic journey. He considers his parents as his greatest mentors.
It is worth noting that Raghav Rajsoni was also honoured with the “Lifetime Legacy Award” at the Designers of India event held in Bengaluru in 2021.
