Udaipur, July – The Monsoon Open Rapid Chess Tournament 2025 was successfully organized at CastleMinds Chess Academy, Sector 5, under the aegis of Chess in Lakecity and hosted by Castlemind Chess. According to Tournament Secretary Kushal Patel, a total of 132 players participated in the one-day tournament, which was conducted in two categories – Category A (Under 5, 7, 9, 11) and Category B (Under 13, 15, 17, and Senior).

Tournament Director Divyanshu Babel informed that Manish Chandalya was present as the Chief Guest, while Kapil Sahu attended as Special Guest and felicitated the winners. Chief Arbiter Bhavesh Pandiyar declared that after six rounds, Vihaan Agrawal emerged champion in Category A, while Mitansh Sahu clinched the title in Category B.

Top performers in each sub-category included:

Under-5: Ramneek Saluja, Daksh Darak, Gyan Jain

Under-7: Gatik Vyas, Mananya Choudhary, Dhanvin Sharma

Under-9: Ayansh Dalal, Vihaan Karival, Purvansh Panwar

Under-11: Dhairya Pagaria, Arham Mehta, Rudransh Bhardwaj

Under-13: Priyanshu Nayak, Darsh Rathi, Vineet Kage

Under-15: Anirudh Sahu, Jenil Parmar, Himansh Chaubisa

Under-17: Hardik Gupta, Pratham Mali, Gaurish Agrawal

Senior: Yajat Vyas, Yaksh Malasia, Bhaskar Anand

Arbiters of the event included Hardik Dak, Prakhar Chaplot, Siddharth Jain, and Vaishali Mishra. Every participant was awarded a medal to boost enthusiasm. The organizers announced that such tournaments would now be held monthly by Chess in Lakecity and CastleMinds Chess to nurture budding talent.

Officials from Buddhibal Seva Sansthan, which operates Chess in Lakecity, graced the occasion, including Patron Tushar Mehta, President Rajeev Bhardwaj, Vice President Dr. Om Sahu, State Association Member Rajendra Teli, Advocate Manish Mogra, and Secretary Vikas Sahu. Trainers like Nilesh Kumawat, Kushal Patel, Divyanshu Babel, Bhavesh Pandiyar, Siddharth Jain, Hardik Dak, Prakhar Chaplot, Disha Sisodia, Manish Chandalya, Kapil Sahu, and Richin Jain, along with the players from CIL International School of Chess, expressed joy over the tournament’s success.

All speakers echoed the belief that with consistent practice, dedication, and passion, these young talents will make their mark on national and international stages. The tournament was a valuable opportunity for players to gain experience and polish their skills in a competitive environment. The event’s disciplined and organized execution was widely appreciated by both players and parents. The achievements of Lakecity’s young talents brought pride not only to their families but to the entire city.
