###Dr. Kriti Bharti Honoured with Shakti-2025 National Award

Jodhpur | Renowned rehabilitation psychologist and Managing Trustee of Saarthi Trust, Dr. Kriti Bharti has been conferred the prestigious Shakti-2025 National Award at the Women Empowerment Dialogue & Felicitation Programme organized by the Gujarat Employers Organization (GEO) in Vadodara.

Dr. Bharti was honored for her courageous campaign against child marriage annulment, prevention efforts, and tireless work in child and women's protection. Notably, she was the only recipient from Rajasthan and has earned global acclaim as one of the World’s Top Ten Child and Human Rights Activists.

During the “Shakti 2025” dialogue session, Dr. Bharti shared an empowering message:

“Let women laugh freely and men express emotions by crying. Emotional liberation is essential for real social equality.”

Each year, GEO selects distinguished individuals from various fields for recognition. This year’s honorees included BBC Top 100 Inspirational Woman Dr. Kriti Bharti, former Army Officer Vandana Sharma from Pune, Dr. Heena Shah, founder of the International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Development in Ahmedabad, and Neha Yadav, a corporate legal advisor.

The ceremony was graced by GEO President Neeraj Patel, Executive Director Dr. Amita Jaspal, and several eminent dignitaries.

A Message of Possibility

In her address, Dr. Bharti emphasized that no task is impossible for women. She called for a cultural shift in society that encourages women to laugh openly and men to cry without shame — a step toward genuine gender equality. She stressed that child marriage remains a curse prevalent across all Indian states and that legal annulment is the most effective route to liberation.

Trailblazer in Child Marriage Annulment

Dr. Bharti made history by successfully annulling India’s first child marriage, setting a precedent. To date, she has annulled 52 child marriages and prevented over 2200 such incidents. Her work has earned recognition in nine international and national records, and the CBSE curriculum now includes her campaign as a case study.

Honored with numerous awards, including the Human Rights Award from Geneva, Dr. Kriti Bharti’s journey from victim to survivor to savior continues to inspire change-makers across the world.
