145th Eye Donation Completed Amid Heavy Rain in Bhawanimandi

#### Rain Couldn’t Stop Noble Act

Despite a relentless downpour, the 145th eye donation in Bhawanimandi was successfully conducted after the sudden demise of property businessman Vimal Sethia, a resident of Ram Nagar. He passed away due to a heart attack.

Following his death, Vimal's nephew Dheeraj, friend Vivek Jain, and niece Jyoti approached his son Rahul Sethia, wife Suman Sethia, and daughters Shweta and Priyanka for consent to donate his eyes. The family, known for its active involvement in social and religious causes, readily agreed to fulfill this noble cause.

Upon receiving consent, Kamlesh Dalal, the city coordinator of Shine India Foundation, was contacted to carry out the eye donation process. On being informed, Dr. Kulwant Gaur of EBSR–BBJ Chapter immediately departed from Kota at 10 p.m. with the Eye Collection Unit “Jyoti Rath,” even as heavy rainfall lashed the region.

By midnight, Dr. Gaur reached the residence of the deceased in Bhawanimandi and successfully conducted the eye donation. During the process, family members, including women and children, observed the entire procedure closely. Any doubts they had about eye donation were resolved on the spot.

Coordinator Kamlesh Dalal informed that this donation marked the 145th successful eye donation in the area, indicating a growing awareness about eye donation among the people. Relatives and well-wishers including son-in-law Sanjay Jain (Bhanpura), Komal Jain, Sanjay Lotkhedi, Dheeraj Jain, and Vivek Jain supported the process.

Rahul Sethia shared that his father was a strong supporter of the eye donation movement in Bhawanimandi and had expressed a desire to donate his eyes. By fulfilling his last wish, the family found deep emotional satisfaction and peace.
