Values Given to Girls Uplift Three Generations: MLA Jain

Udaipur The two-day celebration marking the 10th anniversary of the Jain Darshan Girls College, operated by Shri Kundkund Kahan Shashwat Parmarthik Trust at Sanskar Teerth Shashwat Dham (Girls’ Gurukul) in Tulsidas Ki Sarai, Dabok, concluded with grandeur on Sunday.

Dr. Mahaveer Prasad Jain, Minister and Trustee of Shashwat Dham, informed that the program began with an address by Dr. Ankit Jain, the convenor and trustee of the Trust. Dr. Jinendra Shastri, Minister and Trustee, welcomed the guests and emphasized that Shashwat Dham is the first institution in India that educates girls in values, Sanskrit, Indian philosophy, and Jain philosophy.

A total of 67 graduates who earned the title of "Shastri" after five years of rigorous study were honored. Trust President Lalit Kikawat, Vice President B.D. Jain, General Secretary Bhavesh Kalika, and Treasurer Narendra Dalawat felicitated the guests with traditional Mewari turbans, garlands, and shawls, while the students were presented with tokens of appreciation.

Chief guest and city MLA Tarachand Jain, in his keynote address, said, “The values imparted to girls uplift three generations. By choosing this spiritual path, these young women are progressing toward a noble life, and they deserve congratulations.” He mentioned past contributions by Pandit Ratan Chand Bharill and Dr. Hukam Chand Bharill, who promoted scriptural learning and spiritual camps in Jaipur. He emphasized the need for such initiatives today to counter the growing influence of Western culture.

MLA Jain also shared that for the last 33 years, he has renounced underground vegetables and evening meals, proving that one can live successfully by adopting Jain conduct. “Ultimately, only knowledge and values will accompany us,” he added.

Dr. Jinendra Shastri further elaborated that the college not only imparts values but also guides students toward spiritual upliftment. The chief guest was Chhotulal Bohra, and the event was presided over by Sonal Mukesh Jain, General Secretary of the Indore Dhai Dweep Jinyatan Trust.

Special guests included CA Shyam S. Singhvi, Pandit Manish Shastri from Meerut, Pandit Vipin Shastri from Nagpur, Smt. Asha Pandya, scholar Sandeep Mehta, B.D. Jain, Chandmal Kikawat, and Lalit Kikawat. Dr. Ankit Jain led the mangalacharan, and Dr. Tapish Jain introduced the honored graduates.

Delivering a discourse on Moksh Marg Prakashak, Dr. Manish Jain Shastri from Meerut highlighted the role of self-effort (purusharth) in attaining spiritual progress through contemplation of fundamental truths and self-awareness.

In the evening session, Pandit Vipin Shastri from Satpath Foundation, Nagpur, delivered an insightful lecture on the significance of devotional conduct in spiritual practice.

The guests were honored with garlands, shawls, traditional turbans, and mementos. The event witnessed participation from over a thousand Jain followers from India and abroad. The entire Shashwat Dham campus was beautifully decorated for the occasion, with prominent Trust officials including President Lalit Kikawat, Vice President B.D. Jain, General Secretary Bhavesh Kalika, Treasurer Narendra Dalawat, and Convenor Dr. Ankit Jain present.
