AI Empowers Systems but Cannot Replace Human Emotions: Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar

Nagpur/Udaipur. The annual HR conference Utkarsh 7.0 of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Nagpur was held on Saturday in the presence of Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, member of the former royal family of Mewar and Chairman and Managing Trustee of Maharana Mewar Charitable Foundation. The conference witnessed the participation of over 21 eminent HR experts, academicians, and industry leaders from across the country, who deliberated on the profound impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation on the future of human resources.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar said, “No matter how advanced technology becomes, the foundation of leadership will always remain humanity and humility. Artificial Intelligence can empower systems and processes, but it can never replace human emotions, compassion, and empathy. The essence of human relationships lies in sensitivity and understanding, as empathy makes bonds deeper and more meaningful.”

The theme of this year’s seventh edition of Utkarsh was “Beyond Boundaries of HR in the Age of AI and Automation.” The discussion emphasized that AI is not just a technological shift but a cultural transformation reshaping work processes, workforce capabilities, and organizational structures.

Prominent dignitaries present at the event included Dr. Bhimaraya Metri, Director of IIM Nagpur, Ashok Tiwari, Joint President of Birla Group, and Musharrat Hussain, Head of HR at Suzuki R&D. Senior professors of IIM Nagpur, including Prof. Prashant Gupta, Prof. Alok Kumar Singh, Prof. Shailendra Nigam, and Prof. Prakash Awasthi, also marked their presence.
