Building a Healthy, Harmonious and Inclusive Society through Friendship

Vidya Bhavan Polytechnic Celebrates Friendship Week

Udaipur,  Friendship Building Week was concluded at Vidya Bhavan Polytechnic with inspiring messages on harmony, empathy, and fraternity. Principal Dr. Anil, while addressing the closing ceremony, emphasized that virtues like equanimity, compassion, and friendship are the foundation of a healthy, harmonious, and prosperous society.

He further highlighted the institution’s unique initiative, “Pratham Naam Pratham” (First Name First), which has been practiced for the past eleven years. Under this system, all faculty, staff, and students are addressed by their first names only. Attendance registers and nameplates also carry first names, symbolizing equality and the removal of hierarchical barriers. Dr. Anil described this as a remarkable step towards building an inclusive society.

Program convener, Professor Nitin, added that the spirit of friendship among students ensures no one feels isolated. Instead of a senior-junior divide, when relationships evolve as elder brother, elder sister, or younger sibling, the environment becomes cheerful, and every student gets the chance to develop their personality in a positive atmosphere.

As part of the week-long celebration, essay and poster competitions on the theme Harmony, Compassion, and Friendship were organized. Winners including Samkit, Nancy, Sumedha, Praveen, Aditya, Sakshi, Dipesh, Mahika, Vishwaraj, Mohit, and Kafsha were awarded prizes for their creativity and participation.

Faculty members Jay, Ramesh, Priyanka, Radhakrishnan, Darshana, Raghuveer, Kamlesh, and Neeraj also shared their thoughts on the significance of fraternity and mutual respect in shaping a value-driven society.
