Congress Leader Gunjal Criticizes BJP Governments for Disregarding Constitution

Kota,  Congress leader and former MLA Prahlad Gunjal held meetings with party workers on Tuesday across Nayapura, Rampura, and Patanpol up to Civil Lines Vagdi, assigning responsibilities to prepare for upcoming protests. Addressing the workers, Gunjal stated that BJP governments, formed through alleged vote manipulation at both central and state levels, have started considering themselves above the Constitution.

He added that the BJP government gives no regard to the Constitution, judiciary, or laws. "By violating all constitutional parameters and traditions, the BJP is provoking anger across the country. The power vested in the people by the Constitution is being plundered," he said. Gunjal further alleged that law and order has completely broken down in the state, with chaos prevailing everywhere. "There is no distinction left between police and criminals, and ordinary citizens are forced to live in fear. To curb this autocracy, Congress workers are ready to take to the streets and awaken the government and administration," he emphasized.

Demanding Full Compensation for Flood-Affected Villages

Gunjal highlighted his visit to several flood- and heavy-rain-affected villages in Hadoti, where entire villages were devastated, including homes, crops, and livestock. He criticized ministers, MLAs, and MPs for merely offering empty assurances, adding that the current disaster relief provisions are grossly inadequate.

Smart Meters Described as “Government Loot”

On the issue of smart meters, Gunjal termed them a "smart loot" by the government, accusing officials of creating confusion among the public. He alleged that smart meters are nothing but a tool to further exploit the people financially. "The government had promised not to raise electricity rates during the election, yet over the past year and a half, rates have been increased four to five times. Now, they intend to loot the public through smart meters, which Congress will never allow," he warned.
