Udaipur. On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, a felicitation ceremony was organized at the constituent Lokmanya Tilak Teachers’ Training College of Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth, where students honored their teachers by presenting them with Uparnas and mementos. The entire program was conducted and managed by student-teachers. The ceremony began with Kajal Chauhan welcoming the guests and introducing the program.
Presiding over the function, Vice Chancellor Prof. S.S. Sarangdevot said that the first teacher in creation is the mother, the second is the school, and the university is the teacher thereafter. He stated that Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, as a teacher, statesman, ambassador, philosopher, professor, and Vice Chancellor, set an ideal of life values and perspectives that should inspire today’s youth. He served as the Vice President for 10 years and as the President of India for 5 years. Education, he said, is the weapon that can change the world. Teachers awaken the spirit of nationalism in future generations and emphasize originality. Through the life of Radhakrishnan, he highlighted the dignity and strength of teachers, underlining the significance of their role in shaping both the present and the future. He also emphasized how Radhakrishnan advocated India’s rich knowledge traditions. Prof. Sarangdevot further added that while today’s education is more information-driven, true progress requires student-centric education enriched with originality, values, and wisdom. He also reflected on the role of mothers as the first gurus and the changes that role has undergone in modern times.
The Chief Guest, Chancellor and Head Bhanwar Lal Gurjar, shared inspirational incidents from the life of Dr. Radhakrishnan and remembered the contributions of Pandit Manishi Janardan Rai Nagar in the field of education.
